Combating immunotherapy resistance
Promising findings: Oncode Investigator Daniel Peeper discovered a way of combating resistance in cancer immunotherapy. Peeper appears on BNR Nieuwsradio to talk about his team’s findings on which factors can make tumors insensitive to the therapy and how to possibly circumvent those.

Speeding up prostate cancer research
Hormone therapy can keep metastatic prostate cancer under control, but tumor cells often become resistant. Oncode Investigator Wilbert Zwart found a possible solution: drugs that influence the circadian rhythm of the cell. Zwart is interviewed by Interesting Engineering, where he states that the discovery shows that researchers will need to start thinking outside the box.

No patent, but a solution for many patients
Oncode Investigator Sjaak Neefjes developed a chemo drug that does not damage the heart. The only problem: pharmaceutical companies are not interested in producing it, since it is based on a drug that has long lost its patent. KWF grant for Linde Meyaard
Oncode Investigator Linde Meyaard was one of the lucky scientists to receive a grant from KWF Dutch Cancer Society this summer. NU.nl writes about her aims to research a protein that recognizes collagen, in order to counteract resistance to immunotherapy in cancer.

Developing a smart microscope
Oncode Investigator Miao-Ping Chien has been awarded the Computable Award 2022 in the category Digital Transformation. Computable writes about one of her biggest achievements: developing software and a smart microscope to determine the RNA sequence of single cells that cause metastases.

A super prize for super stem cells
